Adware, malware, spyware, software, what helps your computer and what isn’t so beneficial to your system? It can be difficult to tell, and this is especially true of adware. Adware itself isn’t harmful on its own, and it isn’t always used in malicious applications. While adware can be a close relative of spyware, it can also be used legitimately by reputable programs. How can you tell the difference between real and rogue applications?
What is Adware?
Adware is ad-supported software. Unlike freeware, which allows you to download and use the program free, adware comes with a caveat: if you want to use, you must allow the ads that support the program. The Eudora email client, for instance, is a form of adware in the sense that it is advertising-supported software. But many times, adware is a form of spyware. The difference is that the user gives consent for the legitimate adware program to install, while spyware installs itself surreptitiously. The objective of adware is to track and record your browsing habits in order to sell this data to advertisers for “targeted” advertising.

When errors occur, it is important to be able to repair the Windows registry so as to fix them and to prevent future errors from occurring. You will find that random Windows freezes, error messages and performance slowdowns are good indications that it’s time to do something about the registry.
When there are problems in the registry, these will eventually cascade upwards to affect Windows as a whole. If neglected, these errors can compound. Registry errors develop in the course of using Windows and applications. Data is stored and retrieved from the registry constantly and due to various reasons, invalid data is kept in the registry but are not updated or deleted. As time goes by, the invalid data grows and the registry becomes cluttered with wrong information and inconsistency. As a result, errors occur.
In the past, the only way to fix registry problems is to format the computer and install Windows again from scratch, unless one is a technical guru. An expert can directly edit the registry and fix problems, but the registry can grow to a huge size, making this process tedious and time-consuming. In addition, any mistakes when editing the registry can bring down the system.

For those who are in the health care information technology field, the new year promises to be a year of big changes for IT due in part to two main events of last year. One of those events is the release of the iPad. The second is the new role of federal agencies when it comes to health care and the management of medical records, specifically those in the electronic healthcare records arena.
Why Does the iPad Change Things?
Physicians and nurses alike have literally bought iPads off the shelf, just as the mainstream consumer has done. Tablet systems which hit the shelf from other venues, specifically the Windows version simply haven’ t been as rapidly picked up and used. Nearly all of the health care providers of today are using the iPad and multiple health care providers are now making their electronic healthcare records for the iPad and others are making software as a service systems that will work outside of the typical systems.
