The increase in the number of spyware that infects your computer is directly proportional to the number of anti-spyware available on the market and internet. This means an internet user looking for a program to protect his computer is faced with a wide array of spyware removal programs and downloads. Choosing the right download for his system becomes extremely difficult for him. Therefore, he should download an anti-spyware software only from a reputable website to avoid ending up with more spyware while downloading. The important thing is to check the authenticity of a software or program before downloading it on to your system. I would suggest that you read the license agreement carefully before clicking on the download button. It is also advisable to download more than one program as one may not suffice to combat the multitude of invisible spyware that may infect the computer.
An effective spyware removal download will purge your system of any spyware and if it comes with a spyware program, will prevent any further spyware activity on your computer while it is connected to the internet. Some of the reputed software download sites for anti-spyware include McAfee, spywareinfo.com, all-internet-security.com and tucows.com. To download spy removers from pop-up prompts will be as good as paying for spyware as most of these pop-ups are from spyware developers themselves. Even if it does cleanse your system once, there is every chance that you may be infected with it again and again.
Updates of anti-spyware programs are inevitable due to the ever developing nature of spyware and adware. And there are some programs that can be downloaded for free, but charge for their updates. If you don’t want to pay for spyware removal at any point in time, you would have to choose a program that is reliable as well as free.

First let’s cover the basics.
Definitions
*Virus: a software program capable of reproducing itself and usually capable of causing great harm to files or other programs on the same computer …
*Spy-ware is computer software that is installed surreptitiously on a personal computer to intercept or take partial control over the users interaction with the computer, without the users informed consent.
*Junk Files: Over the course of time, your computer accumulates unwanted and unremoved junk files that are no longer necessary. These junk files remain unused by the operating system, but occupy much disk space.
The first step to optimizing your computer is removal of any virus, malware, spyware, and adware infecting your computer. You may notice pop-ups, error messages, difficulty navigating on the internet, a change in home page, a slowdown in computer functions, and other undesirable behaviours. You need programs designed to eliminate these threats. Once the threats have been neutralized and eliminated you will be ready to take the next step in optimizing the performance of your computer. First let’s look at what we are dealing with.
A computer virus is a malicious program that can do irreparable harm to your computer. An anti virus program is necessary to prevent, and or remove these. Ad-ware and spy-ware are also troublesome. They can create unwanted pop ups and also track the way you surf the web. Over time, if not addressed, they can significantly slow down the operation of your computer. An antivirus or anti-spyware program is necessary to remove these from your computer. Some companies offer what is called a ‘suite’ which encompasses all this into one program and usually has preventative protection as well. This makes it easy and uncomplicated for the regular user to combat and prevent these threats.

I’m sure we’ve all had warnings and cautions of ad ware and/or spy ware threatening to shut down our computers. The computer is one of the most important items to most people and protecting it should be something everyone should read more about. Most ad ware and spy ware programs are cheap and an efficient way to make sure your information is safe. Most of you are still probably asking the question.
What is ad ware and spy ware?
Ad ware is a virus like program that gets on to your computer and you will most likely be infected with pop-ups, banners, and ads. Spy ware is when your personal information is gathered from your computer. They generally both work together to scam you with advertisements saying something like “Your computer has been infected with ad ware, to fix this problem purchase our anti ad ware program”. Ad ware will often be attached to programs you may have downloaded from shareware sites with the author trying to sell something to you.
So why protect my computer from ad ware and spy ware?
Well to tell you the truth spy ware is more dangerous than ad ware because it gathers your personal information, which can be used to scam you and send spam to your email address. Ad ware on the other hand is mainly just a nuisance, which is constantly producing pop-ups on your screen. It won’t shut down your computer but it will slow it down and more and more pop-ups will occur over time.
I want ad ware and/or spy ware but what program do I buy?

Adware, malware, spyware, software, what helps your computer and what isn’t so beneficial to your system? It can be difficult to tell, and this is especially true of adware. Adware itself isn’t harmful on its own, and it isn’t always used in malicious applications. While adware can be a close relative of spyware, it can also be used legitimately by reputable programs. How can you tell the difference between real and rogue applications?
What is Adware?
Adware is ad-supported software. Unlike freeware, which allows you to download and use the program free, adware comes with a caveat: if you want to use, you must allow the ads that support the program. The Eudora email client, for instance, is a form of adware in the sense that it is advertising-supported software. But many times, adware is a form of spyware. The difference is that the user gives consent for the legitimate adware program to install, while spyware installs itself surreptitiously. The objective of adware is to track and record your browsing habits in order to sell this data to advertisers for “targeted” advertising.
How Does Adware Enter a System?
You elect to install legitimate adware; you will see a user agreement and/or end-user license agreement, and it is in these terms of use that you are agreeing to display the ads. A legitimate adware program displays these unobtrusively, and you have the option to use the Remove function. In contrast, adware installs without your knowledge and displays nuisance pop-ups. How does adware enter your system?

An advertising-supported software, or adware as many knows it, is basically a type of software that shows advertisements of certain products, services, or a website on your PC’s. Besides it being annoying, there are many problems that it can also give to your computer. That is why removal of adware is very important.
Some of the damage or bad effects it can bring to your computers are slowing of your browser, pop-ups that suddenly shows, problems with your internet connection, and the worst, it can also infringe your privacy. There are some signs that you should look for to see if your computers are affected by adwares or spywares.
The most common signs that you would easily see are, sudden slowness of the whole system. Some also makes you land on an unknown site different from what you searched. Your default internet browser suddenly changed. You will also notice that every time you open or start your PC, an error sign often shows up.
If you noticed some of these signs, it would be good to check immediately if indeed you are infected. The first step that you will need to do is to always update your computer, most importantly the security updates. Then download an anti-virus or anti-malware software, there are free or trial versions but it would be wiser to buy them to get the most support they can give.
Keep in mind though that every day, different kind of viruses, malwares, and adwares are created. So choose the best anti-malware you could possibly get. Study the capabilities first or ask other peoples referrals, if they knew any great software for fighting adwares. If you already have this, it would be a good practice to regularly scan your computers, if at all possible, use a full system scan.
